Students in Iran show their exasperation against the regime’s atrocities

Protest gathering in an Iranian university
December 7th is the students Day in Iran. It goes back to 62 years ago when three university students were slain by the security forces during nationwide student uprising against the Shah’s dictatorship.
Students in Iran have always been a solid force in revolution. The present religious regime, which grasped power after the ouster of the Shah, has always tried to suppress, and deviate, the students’ protests. As the students say the regime has turned the universities into garrisons by deploring security forces to stifle student voices there. Many student leaders have been arrested and stood torture in Mullahs jails. Some has been shut and killed in the streets. Nevertheless the regime still cannot hide its fear from students.

Students show their resentments at a university in Tehran.
In recent days, getting close to Dec. 7th, Iranian regime has augmented its suppressive measures against students. Reports indicate that many students, both male and female, have been arrested in different parts of Iran including the capital Tehran, Khuzestan, Kerman and in Kurdistan. Security forces have been stationed in key areas of Tehran. Sajedi Nia, Tehran’s Police Chief has said that “These forces are in “routine maneuver” for readiness against any potential threat”.
