Iran Freedom rally in pictures: Maryam Rajavi, NCRI President-elect

NCRI - The annual Iran Freedom rally in Paris on June 13, 2015 was the largest international pro-democracy gathering for Iran. Iranians and their international supporters declared their support for Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan for a future free Iran and reiterated that in order to defeat Islamic fundamentalism there needs to be regime change in Iran. More than 600 international political dignitaries, including 120 lawmakers from 60 countries, attended in support of the political platform of Iran’s Parliament in exile, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). They also demanded international protection for members of Iran’s main opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or Mujahedin-e Khalq,MEK), in Camp Liberty, Iraq. Here are highlights of the event in the Villepinte convention center in pictures.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, Chairman of the US House Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats: I see a day when elections will be held in Iran and the mullahs won’t be choosing the candidates. I see a day when Iran will rejoin the family of nations of free people. I see a day when the people of Camp Liberty will be welcomed home as heroes into a free Iran. Today, it is my honor to join you in reminding the corrupt and brutal mullahs who control Iran today that their day is coming and it will come soon

They read out bi-partisan text signed by 38 former senior US officials supporting the democratic 10-point plan of opposition leader Maryam Rajavi for a future free Iran. They say that in order to stop nuclear proliferation in Iran and defeat Islamic fundamentalism there needs to be support for Iran’s Parliament-in-exile, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), to bring about regime change. They also call on the Obama administration to live up to its legal obligation of protecting thousands of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Camp Liberty, Iraq

Smith, Canadian Senator: Rouhani is not a moderate. Executions are at their highest levels since the 1980s. We believe that the fundamental freedoms are all contained in Mrs Rajavi's 10-point plan. I have read it numerous times, and I can say all the political parties in Canada would support these basic democratic objectives

John Bolton, former US Ambassador to the UN: This is despite the fact there’s simply no evidence that the people of Iran want the ayatollahs to have nuclear weapons. The idea that this is a matter of pride for the Iranian citizens is propaganda from the regime. The NCRI platform has long made it clear that in a democratic Iran there would be no nuclear weapons, no weapons of mass destruction. The MEK over time has done more to make the world aware of the clandestine nuclear weapons program of the ayatollahs than anyone else, and Mr Howard Dean, former US Democratic Party chairman and former Governor of Vermont: America did not keep its promise to Camp Liberty residents

JamesWoolsey, former director of the CIA: We do not have, in my judgment, a reasonable chance of persuading the ayatollahs to agree with us on any sensible approach toward nuclear weapons. The agreement that is being negotiated is worse than worthless, and will only add to the impetus behind moving toward more and more nuclearization of the Middle East as well as the outside world. We need to stop that

Aneesa Ahmed, former Deputy Minister of Women's Affairs in Maldives: To my sisters and brothers in Camp Liberty I express my full support and solidarity with you and I assure you that I will do whatever I can for your safety and rights. Mrs. Rajavi, I salute you for your courage and steadfastness in fighting for democracy and human rights. You are an inspiration to all women and us Muslim women in particular. Indeed, you have become our role model. I wish you and NCRI success in your fight to bring change for the Iranian people.
